As the end of Summer approached in the Vale, we decided to rally the crew and make the most of the sun. There was plenty on, and some serious bargains to be had. As we had recently said our goodbyes to the Glenelg store we needed to cut ties with some of the excess baggage.

For this recap, we thought we’d touch base with Dailys newbie, Tom, who was pouring vinos and slinging threads all weekend. We’re stoked to get his thoughts on the weekend's happenings and how he’s settling in!

Tom reports...

Yooo, hello Daily Grind readers!
Well, what a way to kick start my time at Dailys with the Summer Send off! So much cool stuff was happening and it was sick to see the space really come alive.

The grand opening of the ‘Good Bank Gallery’ next door was a real highlight. Run by the legend himself, Henry Jock, the exhibition showcased over 50 South Aus artists and also had some screen printing going. Was cool to see the link between Daily Grind and the gallery - people walking out with a tee and a print from the exhibition! What an absolute combo deal, rivals anything on offer at KFC.

Also got to hang out with Dailys royalty, Stokesy and Forbsey, who (somewhat) showed me the ropes. Whilst slinging some Five Oclock Somewhere vinos and Coopers bevvies to the good people of McLaren Vale. So if you come into the store now and I don’t know how to do something - you know why hahaha

Little Black Bike out the back was also cranking, as well as the bike jumps with people just absolutely sending it! Couldn’t believe what some of the crew were doing on the pushy.

For our mouths, we had some delish foods from local food trucks Chimichurro and All Fired Up Pizza over the whole weekend which was fuelling our superior customer service. Emma from our friends at McLaren Vale Coffee Co was pouring some supreme latte art and it tasted just as good as it looked (this was a life saver after a night at the Fringe Fest night before…).

Then for our ears, we had Thoma and the Humbugs and King Jeff and the How Are Yous (regulars at our Gilbert St ramp) playing some epic live music. Almost turned into a music lesson at the end with a couple of the groms getting up to learn a song or two at the end!

So all the senses were covered, couldn’t go wrong!

Haven’t even mentioned the bargains that people were getting on sale items too. Crew were getting decked out! Still some items left in the stores actually so get in quick to snag a deal.

All in all, couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Stoked to be a part of the team and keen for the next one!! (I should probably get organising……)
